Dubai Police have hinted that the newly unveiled Cybertruck could soon be added to the force’s impressive fleet of patrol vehicles.
On Tuesday, police shared a picture of Tesla’s new electric pickup truck on their Twitter page.
The image, which was originally shared by the news portal of Dubai Future Foundation, showed the vehicle decked out in the green and white Dubai Police logo.

A caption above the picture simply read, “Dubai Police #Cybertruck 2020”.
Tesla’s chief executive, Elon Musk, was also tagged in the post.
Retweeted more than 100 times, the cryptic image sparked curiosity in the UAE, with residents convinced it will be on the Emirates’ roads next year. But Dubai Police are yet to confirm if that is true or not.
The force is no stranger to elite supercars. Just this week it added a new high-performance sports car to its already flashy fleet - a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S.
The powerful vehicle joins the Lamborghinis, Porsches and Bentleys which already grace the roads of the UAE's biggest city. Whether Cybertruck will be added to that list, however, is yet to be seen.
Designed to have the utility of a truck with a sports car performance, the most talked about issue from Cybertruck was when a steel ball shattered its armoured windows during a live unveiling earlier this week.
Aside from the minor hiccup though, there has been widespread interest in the vehicle, with Mr Musk suggesting more than 250,000 orders have been received worldwide so far.
Tesla opened orders immediately after the unveiling and allowed potential buyers to book the truck by depositing a fully refundable $100, compared with the $1,000 it charged for booking Model 3 sedans in 2016, reported Reuters.
Not all orders will translate into sales, however, as many are likely to eventually be cancelled and money refunded to depositors. Tesla plans to start manufacturing the truck around late-2021.
