DUBAI // Triathlete Medhi Karasane is still unconscious and critically ill in Abu Dhabi’s Al Rahba hospital after being hit by a car while out cycling on Saturday morning.

Mr Karasane, an Etihad cabin crew manager, was hit by a car from behind while cycling on the Abu Dhabi to Dubai road.

He is still on a ventilator suffering from a serious head injury as well as serious injuries to his lower and upper limbs.

A friend posted on Facebook that very little had changed in his condition. “If we can say it’s a positive sign, which means the swelling is not worsening,” the friend wrote.

“Still waiting for doctor’s assessment. Keep your prayers coming.”
