Passengers can now pay for their journeys with Abu Dhabi Airport Taxis using a credit card.

The service, which begins on Tuesday, also allows passengers to use Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.

The emirate’s Integrated Transport Centre said it was studying the possibility of implementing online payment options such as ALI Pay and WeChat.

ITC regulates more than 6,000 taxis in Abu Dhabi. These include six-seater airport taxis, which are black and have extra baggage space.

More than 1,100 card transactions were completed since the payment system had its soft launch in mid-July.
