Transport bosses make dreams come true for Dubai youngsters
School Transport Services go full speed ahead for vital charity
Transport chiefs have stepped up a charity drive to offer a bus load of support to needy youngsters in Dubai.
As part of their annual Stuff the Bus initiative held during Ramadan, School Transport Services made a stop off at the Special Family Support Group, a charity working in support of children with special needs in the city.
The team parked up and paid a visit to the homes of some of the families to hear of their stories before later dishing out gifts such as hearing aids, wheelchairs and leg braces to the children.
The children and their families were also invited to an iftar held at the community park of Al Khail Gate Community and take part a raft of activities, including giving the school bus a fresh lick of paint.
Gulshan Kavarana, Founder of SFS, thanked Steve Burnell, Managing Director of STS and his team, saying: "We thank you so much for spending time with our families, listening to our stories and making them feel heard - this was really special and we know that the children and the families lives will be enhanced by the essential gifts given.
"Thank you for the helping young Maharukh get her much needed hearing aids, her life will become much easier from now on. The new wheelchair for Beroz will enable him to enjoy his life more comfortably. These are the best gift they can get during the holy month of Ramadan, which will truly change their lives."
Neetu Deshwal, Marketing and Communication Manager of STS, said: "The Stuff the Bus campaign was launched last year with the sole motive of supporting less privileged students during the holy month of Ramadan. We believe it is our responsibility to help and support such families and children for a brighter future."
Steve Burnell, Managing Director of STS, said: "This year we are happy and proud that we are supporting SFS through our stuff the school bus campaign. It is so nice to see how these families have come together and have been supporting each other in raising their special children. It is an absolute blessing to see smiles on their faces."
“Community celebrations and support is extremely important to us. We all need to stop and listen and understand how small changes can have such a significant impact to others. We are delighted that we can be part of making life easier for the parents and children with SFS Group. We look forward to the coming months when we can ensure that the summer camps are accessible for the children through the provision of our buses and provide an all-round memorable experience.”
