DUBAI // A man burnt to death in his car and two other men also died after a road accident Thursday morning.
SAB, 32, an Emirati, died when his vehicle caught fire following a collision with a Dubai Municipality service car that was parked on the side of Al Khawaneej Road.
The municipality service car was carrying two workers who were carrying out landscaping work.
Police did not name the two dead workers, but said they were from an Asian country.
Maj Gen Mohammad Saif Al Zafein, head of the Dubai Police traffic department, said maintenance and gardening work on roads should not be carried out during the day.
"They are to be carried out during night after placing reflective signs to warn motorists, and the vehicles should be accompanied by a Roads and Transport Authority car with a flashing light, while the road should be fitted with reflective arrows showing drivers the way," he said.
The traffic department is preparing a detailed report about the accident as well as details on other mistakes committed by municipality drivers.
