The first Middle East Stevie Awards to recognise blossoming businesses will be organised in Ras Al Khaimah in February 2020.

The business awards, are a coveted prize for firms doing unique, innovative or exceptional work across 17 countries.

Sponsored by marketers, publishers and government institutions, the US-based award will be organised in the Middle East for the first time.

They aim to recognise innovation in the workplace. Government and private sector entities in the Middle East and North Africa can participate in the upcoming gongs.

The awards programme and prize-giving ceremony will be held in Ras Al Khaimah for the first three years and every other year after that.

Entrepreneurs and businesses can now send their entries for the first edition.

Ras Al Khaimah is striving towards becoming a business and tourism hub, with the awards sponsored by the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber.

"RAK Chamber is committed to supporting the regional business community and empowering it to move forward and excel on a global scale," said Mohamed Ali Al Nuaimi, chairman of RAK Chamber.

"The Middle East Stevie Awards can serve as a powerful instrument for companies around the region to benchmark and enhance their performance, empower their human resources, and promote prosperity and excellence in the Middle East."

Michael Gallagher, founder and executive chairman of the awards, said they are an opportunity to recognise the good work being done in the region.

"We have recognised the achievements of executives, entrepreneurs, and organisations across the region for many years in our other programmes," he said.

"The time is right for the region to have its own awards programme."
