Three die in traffic crashes

Three people are dead and another four were injured in two traffic crashes yesterday.

Three people died and four were injured in two traffic crashes yesterday.

A teenager died in the first crash, at 10.30am on the road from Reef Greens towards Dubai. The driver SM, 18, lost control of the car, swerved, and crashed into a street light and barriers at the side of the road, said Col Hamad al Bloushi, the head of highway traffic police.

The passenger SJ, 15, died, while the driver and his passenger MM, 18, were seriously injured. All are Emiratis.

The second crash occurred at 11.45am near the Al Wathba bridge in Abu Dhabi emirate.

A car driven by MM, 17, who did not have a licence, collided with a car driven by SM, 34, a Bengali man. MM died after being thrown from the car. SM also died.

A 16-year-old Emirati passenger travelling with MM, and MH, a Bengali who was with SM, were injured.
