Rick Ross Dubai gig cancelled

The hip-hop star Rick Ross's show tomorrow at Atlantis, The Palm, has been cancelled. According to the organisers, IMM Events, a new date will be announced soon. All tickets will be valid for the rescheduled event. "The show will take place in October or November. We will refund the amount, if requested," said a statement from IMM Events. Annie Lennox weds longtime partner

Three celebrities married their respective partners early this week. Annie Lennox, the Scottish singer-songwriter, married her boyfriend, Mitch Besser, in London on Saturday. The private ceremony was held aboard a boat on the Thames, with Lennox's two daughters serving as bridesmaids. This is the singer's third marriage. Meanwhile, the British R&B singer Emeli Sandé married her fiancé, Adam Gouraguine, according to her representative, although no details were provided. And Patrick Carney, the drummer of The Black Keys rock band, married Emily Ward on Saturday at the home they share in Nashville. His best friend, the actor Will Forte, officiated. - AP

Amanda Bynes, the 26-year-old former Nickelodeon star, has been in trouble with the law lately for her driving indiscretions, with two hit-and-run charges and a citation for driving with a suspended licence. On Sunday, her vehicle was impounded. Lindsay Lohan, also 26, says she's not pleased about how Bynes was let off the hook. O'Reilly and Stewart to debate on the US presidential race

Bill O'Reilly and Jon Stewart will face off during a special debate on the US presidential race. The host of Fox's The O'Reilly Factor and the anchor of Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart have announced they will clash during the event, dubbed The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium. The live event will be streamed online on October 6 from George Washington University. Affleck says Blake Lively didn't know about his Damon connection

In the October issue of Details magazine, Ben Affleck recalls filming The Town in his hometown of Boston and taking his co-star, Blake Lively, on a tour of the city. He reveals that, when he pointed out Matt Damon's childhood home, 25-year-old Lively's response surprised him. "When I saw Matt's childhood home, I said: 'Oh, yeah, that's where Matt grew up.' And she said, 'Who?' And I said, 'Matt Damon.' And she said, 'Oh my god! You know Jason Bourne?' She really didn't know. And I thought: 'There it is. The first age of people who are adults who missed the whole Matt-and-Ben propaganda campaign!' Mostly, it just made me feel old."

Rio Film Festival to show 400 movies

The 24th edition of the Rio Film Festival will bring 400 films from 60 countries to the theatres, beaches and squares of Rio de Janeiro. The organisers say the screenings include movies by Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Soderbergh and Stephen Frears. More than 70 Brazilian films will also be shown, including the opening-night biopic, Gonzaga, about the Brazilian music legend Luis Gonzaga. The festival runs from September 27 to October 11. - AP

Top brands take on Milan catwalks

Italy's top luxury brands, including Fendi, Prada and Versace, are taking to the catwalks for Milan Fashion Week, which began yesterday and runs until Monday.
