A teacher has been seriously injured after being struck by a car outside her school on the first day of term.
The member of staff was rushed to Al Ain Hospital following the accident in Al Sarooj on Sunday.
The incident happened as the teacher used a pedestrian crossing to reach her car at the end of the day.
Several motorists stopped to allow her to cross while a third vehicle - which may have been speeding - knocked her down.
Police urged all drivers to observe speed limits and to take extra care around schools
