More than 10,000 visitors in first weekend of summer festival.
Sunny start for Summer in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI // Summer in Abu Dhabi enjoyed a record opening weekend, its organisers said yesterday, with 3,741 visitors on the first day alone.
Between Thursday and Sunday, about 11,300 guests flocked to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) - more than twice as many as during the same period last year.
"The record attendance is a fantastic response to this year's line-up and puts us well on the way to achieving the 65,000 visitor target we have set for the festival's fourth Adnec outing," said Faisal Al Sheikh, the event's manager.
Tickets also entitle visitors to discounts at more than a dozen attractions in the emirate: Big Bus Tours, the Caracal Shooting Club at the Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel, the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort, the Al Forsan International Sports Resort, the Al Ain Raceway, Yellow Boats, Falcon Aviation's helicopter tours, Al Ain's Hili Fun City, the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi Golf Club, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
The indoor festival costs Dh20 for children up to 12 years old and Dh40 for adults, with free admission for under-twos. It runs until the end of this month.
