An operation to raise a party yacht that sunk off Dubai's Jumeirah Beach Residence is underway, with its owners hoping to salvage the Dh5.5 million vessel.
The charter boat sank on Thursday 3 January and 11 crew and tourists were rescued by a police boat at about 12.45pm.
It was spotted bobbing in the water on Sunday and was prevented from becoming completely submerged by two inflatable booms that salvage workers managed to attach at the weekend.
No one was hurt in the accident, which was caused by a suspected leak that resulted in the vessel to list and take on water quickly.
The vessel's operators, Captain Adventure, based in Dubai Marina, are hoping that it can be salvaged.
