An air rescue operation was launched after two Emirati teenagers were left stranded in the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah.

The National Search and Rescue Centre was alerted to the plight of the pair of 17-year-old boys, who had both suffered injuries during their trek, with one struggling with severe fatigue and being unable to move.

A helicopter was sent to Wadi Bih mountain peak at about 3pm on Wednesday.

The boys were transferred to hospital for treatment.
