A spate of multi-vehicle accidents slowed traffic across Dubai on Thursday leading cars to a standstill on some of the busiest roads.
Dubai Police warned of at least five major accidents between 2pm and 4pm causing bottleneck traffic.
A multi-car accident on Al Ittihad Road to Sharjah led to worse delays than usually seen, while there was a crash on Sheikh Zayed Road near Jebel Ali towards Abu Dhabi.

Police reported another crash involving several vehicles on Sheikh Zayed near the Umm Al Sheif bridge.
A further crash on Rabat Street towards Mirdif slowed commuters heading heading.

Police warned drivers across the road network to be patient, not to swerve between lanes and to watch their speed.
