A stamp collection carrying the image of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has been issued by Emirates Post. Abdullah al Ashram, the executive manager of Emirates Post, said the stamps were issued to "celebrate the majesty and architectural beauty" of the mosque, "one of the most beautiful religious structures in the world". Nasouh Alosh, a 71-year-old accountant from Syria who has been collecting stamps since 1956, said the collection would be popular as it carried the name of Sheikh Zayed and represented a very important mosque in the Muslim world.
"I will definitely get these stamps, I can add them to my mosques and UAE collection," said Mr Alosh, a member of the Emirates Philatelic Association.
The stamps have been issued under two rates; Dh 1 and Dh 5.
Postcards for Dh 25 and first day covers for Dh 7 are also available at the Abu Dhabi central post office, the Deira main office and the Karama central office.
