Snapchat football match insult lands man in court
Victim tells hearing he was sent one insulting message and another threatening to kill him
A man has been charged with hurling insults and death threats during an argument over a football match, Dubai Criminal Court has heard.
The defendant was discussing a UAE league result on Snapchat with another fan in November last year when the conversation turned abusive.
The victim told the hearing he was sent one insulting message and another threatening to kill him if he was ever seen by the man.
He notified police officers and sent a screenshot of their conversation as proof of what had happened.
“I live in Ajman but I was in Dubai when I received his messages at about 6pm,” said the Emirati victim, 28.
The hearing was adjourned until May 15.
