The Sheikha Fatima Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre has opened in Morocco.
Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, chairwoman of the Supreme Council For Motherhood and Childhood, and Princess Lalla Salma, wife of King Mohammed VI of Morocco, attended the ceremony in Rabat.
Other guests included Dr Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State; Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, the UAE ambassador to Morocco; and Al Hussain Al Wardi, the Moroccan health minister.
Mr Al Wardi gave a presentation on the centre's services and medical equipment.
Sheikha Fatima and Princess Lalla Salma then toured the centre and were briefed on the services it provided.
Princess Lalla Salma praised the humanitarian work of Sheikha Fatima, saying it reflected strong fraternal relations between the two countries.
She then presented Sheikha Fatima with the International Award of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Treatment and Prevention in recognition of her efforts in fighting cancer in Morocco.
