Volunteers handing out Iftar meals on Tuesday evening got a surprise when they received a visit from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.

Pictures and videos of Sheikh Mohammed greeting the volunteers from the Al Ihsan Charity Association on the busy Dubai road in his G-Wagon quickly went viral.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi, who is chief executive of Al Ihsan Charity Association, shared a picture with the caption: The most wonderful quote of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid @HHShkMohd said:

"If you are optimistic, you shall see opportunities in challenges, success in the future, and talents and energies in people."

The Al Ihsan Charity Association volunteers were taking part in the Ramadan Aman campaign, which distributes iftar packages to dissuade people from speeding home to break their fast.

Last month, Dubai Police revealed that road rage is one of the main catalysts for accidents during Ramadan.

Six people died in road accidents in Ramadan last year, accounting for four per cent of the 148 total deaths in the emirate.
