A UAE school worker has become a social media sensation after Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid shared heartwarming footage of her greeting pupils.

The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai called on his 10 million Twitter followers to help him find the woman with a "beautiful spirit" after posting a video of her welcoming smiling children to school with a kiss and a hug.

Sheikh Mohammed heaped praise on her for bringing a "positive energy" to the start of the school day.

“The beginning of a school day in the UAE ... the beginning is different when you are with a teacher who carries a beautiful spirit, a kind word, a sincere smile, optimism and real positive energy that she spreads among her children and beloved pupils,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

“We are looking for her, for those who know her?” he said.

As the woman herself is not visible in the video, Sheikh Mohammed issued a plea for help to identify her.

It was soon answered, with many of his followers identifying the mystery woman as Sheikha Al Nuaimi, a school counsellor at Al Aaliya School in Al Ain.

One twitter user said they used to call her "Mama Sheikha" due to her kindness and love.

“This is Mama Shehika. I remember once when we were going on a trip to Al Hili park and I forgot to bring money for the entrance fee,” said the Twitter user.

“I was about to go back home when Mama Sheikha said no, you will not go home and paid the fee and gave me money to buy food like the rest of the girls.”

Ms Al Nuaimi thanked everyone who liked the video on her account.

“From the heart, thanks to everyone who praises the video and for all the comments that made me happy and proud of my job and cherish it because it serves a generation, in God willing, who is the apple of their parents' eyes and an asset to their homeland,” she said.

Another user said that she was like a mother to her.

“Mama Sheikha. I was her student and I grow up to be a mother and I didn’t forget her,” said Mariam.

“She is a true mother who fears for her students as if they were her daughters.”
