Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid releases poem to celebrate marriage of sons

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has shared his joy over the marriage of his three sons in a new poem.

The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai offered his support to the newly-wed trio in a lyrical tribute posted on his Instagram account.

Dubai's government’s media office confirmed last Thursday that Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, 36, Crown Prince of Dubai, had wed Sheikha Sheikha bint Saeed bin Thani Al Maktoum, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, 35, had married Sheikha Maryam bint Butti Al Maktoum and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed, chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, 32, had married Sheikha Midya bint Dalmouj Al Maktoum.

The brothers, who share the same mother, Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma, were wed in an Islamic ceremony on Wednesday, when they signed an official marriage contract.

In his poem, Sheikh Mohammed speaks of “joy and melody” filling the UAE skies at the happy news.

“The nation looked radiant in green garment

“A garden bloomed with their flares.

“The blowing wind and the bare desert

“Are with the beauty of roses adorned.

“Why not? It is celebrating the wedding

Of Ahmad, Maktoum and Hamdan.”

The poem also speaks about how Sheikh Mohammed raised the brothers as noblemen since childhood, instilling them with moral values, which has created “great men”.

“Today, my effort continues in your marriage.

“For marriage completes faith and regard.”

He tells his sons to always respect their wives and treat people well and be good.

“I congratulate you from all my heart,” writes Sheikh Mohammed.

“And here’s a genuine parental advice,

“Be united, always,

“That’s how life thrives with power.”

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, also shared his "heartfelt congratulations" with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid on the marriages of his sons.

“My heartfelt congratulations to my brother Mohammed bin Rashid on the occasion of the marriage of his sons Hamdan, Maktoum and Ahmed,” wrote Sheikh Mohamed.

“A great joy throughout the country. I congratulate my three sons. Wishing them a lifetime of success and joy and family happiness.”
