'Bonds of Strength' was held at Al Hamra Camp in Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, attended a joint military drill with King Abdullah II, King of Jordan on Wednesday.

The joint exercise showed the two country's "historic ties and robust co-operation", Sheikh Mohamed said on Twitter.

"Our forces are ready and able to work together for the stability of the region," Sheikh Mohammed said.

The King of Jordan echoed similar statements of brotherhood and co-operation.

"The friendship and brotherhood which bind us together have strengthened the long-established love and co-operation between our countries for decades. UAE and Jordan have stood side by side in several circumstances and shall always remain as such. May God protect our unity and keep our homelands safe," King Abdallah said in a tweet.

The exercise was called Bonds of Strength and was held at Al Hamra Camp in Al Dhafra on Wednesday.

King Abdullah celebrated 20 years on the throne in Ammam earlier in the day.
