Sheikh Khalifa receives condolences over aunt's death

Letters of condolences have also been sent in from a number of foreign dignitaries and royals.

Sheikh Khalifa, the President, continued to receive condolences yesterday following the death of his aunt, Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nayhan.

Letters of condolences were also sent from a number of foreign dignitaries and royals including Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdelaziz, the Prince of Tabuk Region in Saudi Arabia, and Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the emir of Qatar.

After the death of Sheikha Maitha, funeral prayers were offered at the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Mosque in Al Muwaiji, Al Ain, by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nayhan, the Ruler's representative in the Eastern Region, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's representative in the Western Region.
