Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, on Tuesday shared a poem in Arabic honouring the UAE's Founding Father Sheikh Zayed.

Following an announcement on Saturday that 2018 will be the Year of Zayed, UAE leaders and Emiratis voiced their joy and support on social media by sharing video footage, photos and wisdom of Sheikh Zayed.

On Tuesday Sheikh Hamdan shared two Instagram posts, the first was his poem where he called people's attention to Sheikh Zayed's good deeds.

In the poem Sheikh Hamdan said Sheikh Zayed achieved his dreams which was to make the UAE a place where people can reach their own goals that would otherwise have been difficult. He said that accomplishment was not a difficult ask for Sheikh Zayed who he said achieved the impossible.

He thanked President Sheikh Khalifa for dedicating 2018 as the Year of Zayed, which was welcomed by the people of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the sons of Sheikh Zayed.

He said: "Who does not know Zayed? Who doesn't know the role he played in history? Who doesn't know his kindness and humanity? And his love for greater good?"

He said Sheikh Zayed was not only being remembered for the 100th anniversary of his birth but is indeed remembered everyday and his legacy will never be forgotten.

Sheikh Hamdan also appeared to make reference to recent tensions in the region. He said if Sheikh Zayed was alive today, his words and wisdom would be more beneficial than using force during these times of separation and difficulty.

He said such temperament makes him love and appreciate Sheikh Zayed even more.

"For Zayed was a patriot, an Arab, a Muslim and had inspirational ideas and loved all mankind without discrimination." Sheikh Hamdan ended the poem by challenging anyone to attempt to undermine Sheikh Zayed's legacy.

The second post shared by Sheikh Hamdan was a montage of pictures with overlaid music and a quote from Sheikh Zayed when he spoke about how men (mankind) were responsible for creating and leading industry.

He asks: "Who creates factories? Who customises them? Who manages them after they've been created?

"Men create industry, men create their happiness, men create their lives, men create their futures."
