The Crown Prince of Dubai is in Japan – and attempting to blend in with the locals.
Pictures shared on Twitter on Tuesday showed Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed trying on a kimono while out shopping with his uncle, Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma, in the capital, Tokyo.
Kimonos, a formal robe traditionally worn by samurai warriors up until the mid-19th century, are now usually reserved for special occasions such as weddings and funerals.
The full-length garment is typically wrapped around the body and is tied by a sash known as an obi.
The Crown Prince is currently on a mini-tour of Asia, and was seen last week sampling the delights of Seoul.
He was pictured in the South Korean capital enjoying a matcha milkshake – a blend of milk, honey and vanilla popular in South-East Asia – as well as visiting some historic landmarks.
