Shasha Grant finalists announced

The Shasha Grant finalists were announced yesterday by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission.

The winner of this international screenwriting competition is awarded $100,000 (Dh 367,250) during the Circle conference in October, which is part of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival. The Shasha Grant, which was open to Arabic-language entries for the first time in the four-year history of the festival, received nearly 150 feature-length submissions from across the world. Forty per cent of the entries were in Arabic and nearly a quarter were from UAE-based writers.
