Suspect arrested by police after valuables stolen from ten stores in the emirate
A man suspected of carrying out a series of shops raids before burying the haul of stolen goods and cash in the desert has been arrested by Sharjah Police.
Police received reports of thefts from ten supermarkets and mobile phone shops in the emirate.
Major Abdullah Al Malih, head of the criminal investigation department at Sharjah Police, said the stores had been broken into at night, with valuables snatched.
He said on the official Sharjah Police Instagram account that an Asian man was apprehended when he tried to break into a shop in the Al Batayeh area.
The suspect is aid to have targeted supermarkets and mobile phone shops before burying the mobile phones and cash he stole in a hole in the desert.
