SHARJAH // A man was injured after fire burnt a cargo ship hours after it was fully loaded at Sharjah's Port Khalid today.
The fire started around 2:20pm and it took fire fighters about an hour to fully extinguish it, while all the cargo on board was destroyed, said Col Mohammed Abu Taweel, the Sharjah civil defence officer who supervised the response.
“The injured had some minor burns,” he said. “The rescue team rushed him to Kuwait Hospital after giving him a first aid.”
The fire broke out just a day after another inferno gutted the premises of Al Safeer Group of Companies and reduced up to six stores to ashes.
