SHARJAH // Three people, including a school boy and a father-of-three, were killed in two car accidents in Sharjah yesterday.

A 62-year-old Emirati was killed and his wife and three daughters were injured in a crash on Al Dhaid Road while a six-year-old Emirati boy and a Filipina, 26, died in an accident on Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qassimi Road.

Both crashes were caused by speeding, police said.

The father died and his family were injured when their car left the road and overturned at about midday, said Maj Khalid Al Kayi of Sharjah Police.

Identified as M?S?M, the father was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, S?R?A, 33, and their daughters S?MS, 13, M?M?S, 12, and H?M?S, 10, received minor injuries and were taken to Al Dhaid hospital for treatment.

In the second accident, an Emirati boy and his family’s Filipina driver were killed in a collision with a vehicle being driven by an Emirati man at about 10am.

The boy’s 18-year-old sister, who was also travelling in the car, survived, said Maj Al Kayi.

The injured woman was taken to Al Qassimi hospital for treatment.
