Organised by the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development, the Think Science competition was open to students between the ages of 15 and 24.
In total, 420 Emirati students from eight universities and 60 schools are taking part.
Students were asked to design, develop and build innovations and to apply science skills in solving practical problems, and 160 projects and inventions are on display.
A committee of scientists, engineers and professionals from higher education will pick the winning projects.
The top Emirati winners from the competition will be awarded prizes, including opportunities for internships.
They will also become eligible to compete and participate in other regional and international competitions, depending on their age group.
