School funded by UAE opens in Pakistan village for 225 young pupils

The school is the latest effort by the UAE Project to Assist Pakistan.

ABU DHABI // A new school paid for by the UAE has opened in a village in Pakistan.

The Haryati School in Kalam village, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will serve 225 primary and preparatory pupils of both genders, according to Wam, the UAE state news agency. The two-storey building has eight classrooms and a computer lab. The UAE Project to Assist Pakistan has funded 53 educational projects, valued at Dh27.6 million, including primary schools, high schools, colleges and vocational training institutes. The project also plans to distribute 30,000 school bags to poor Pakistani pupils.
