The team will jump on Saturday if conditions improve.
Red Devils' Dubai display put off by high winds
DUBAI // A skydiving display by the British Army’s world-renowned Red Devils free-fall team was cancelled today because of poor weather conditions.
The show, which was to be performed at Sky Dubai at the Marina, was put off because of strong winds. It will now take place on Saturday at 11am at the same venue.
The display was open to the public, although organisers were unsure how many people would turn up at the Palm drop zone. It was set up with the help of the British embassy in Dubai.
The team was supposed to jump at 4pm but forecasts forced organisers to bring the display time forward to 2pm, then cancel it for the day.
“We aren’t sure when it will go ahead. It just depends when the weather conditions become more favourable, and we will inform the public when we have more details,” said a spokeswoman at the embassy.
