Ramadan: Time changes for paid Mawaqif parking in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI // Mawaqif paid parking times will be changed to between 9am to 4pm, and 10.30pm to 2.30am during Ramadan, the Department of Transport announced today.
The move is part of the transport authority's strategy to provide car parking solutions to the public, with an aim to facilitate parking and travel needs during the holy month.
Paid parking is currently in place from 8am until midnight, Saturday to Thursday. Parking is free on Fridays and official holidays.
Mawaqif fees remain unchanged during Ramadan. Parking costs Dh2 an hour or Dh15 a day in the standard spaces marked with turquoise and black kerbstones , and Dh3 an hour in the premium spaces (turquoise and white) for a maximum four-hour stay.
Resident parking is marked with a street sign and a continuous turquoise line, and is enforced form 9pm to 8am. The villa-resident parking spots will be available to villa residents around the clock.
Mawaqif offers a 10 minute grace period when vehicles are first parked legally.
