Ramadan aid distributed in Egypt by UAE embassy

Thousands of needy families in Egypt have received Ramadan food baskets from the UAE Embassy in Cairo.

ABU DHABI // Thousands of needy families in Egypt have received Ramadan food baskets from the UAE Embassy in Cairo.

Aid was donated by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Red Crescent Authority was used to by food from local markets, according to state news agency, Wam.

The food was then given to Al Nour Wal Amal Association, a charity with branches in all Egyptian cities, for distribution

A second batch of food baskets will be distributed by the embassy next week and it will also give out donated clothes to more than 100,000 Egyptian children as part of the Dress One Million campaign launched by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
