RAK police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a 17-year-old male whose body was found in Al Maamoura.
Police said the victim had left his parents’ home after a family dispute and had been staying with friends. It is believed he then moved into a house where the man who has been detained was also staying.
Police said the teenager died in this house, but then his body was moved by car and dumped where it was found. The body was found at the weekend.
Brig Gen Abdullah Al Hadidi said the postmortem showed that the man was strangled and that the man had been taking drugs.
The investigation continues and police are examining the possibility that other parties were involved.
