Rain, rough seas and fog expected across UAE this weekend

Motorists and fisherman have been advised to exercise extreme caution in the coming days as fog and dust will reduce visibility.

ABU DHABI //Rough seas, rain, wind and fog are expected this weekend. Motorists and fisherman have been advised to exercise extreme caution in the coming days as fog and dust will reduce visibility, particularly in the Northern Emirates and in Al Gharbia.

Rain is likely in the Northern Emirates this weekend, a representative from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said.

Skies will be hazy and partly cloudy today with moderate to fresh winds that will blow dust and sand from the interior. The sea will be moderate to rough.

Moderate to fresh winds from the south and southeast will strengthen by noon tomorrow, especially at sea. Dust and sand blown over the interior will reduce horizontal visibility and cause a drop in temperatures on Saturday, particularly in the west.

Seas will be rough at the weekend. Fishermen are advised to continually check the forecast this weekend and avoid rough seas.

Thursday temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 24ºC to 30ºC in the interior and 21ºC to 27ºC on the coast, with lows of 7ºC to 17ºC in the interior and 16ºC to 21ºC degrees on the coast.

Winds today could reach up to 45kph in coastal areas.
