Motorists and motorcycle drivers in Sharjah will be able to report minor accidents through a new app provided by Rafid Automotive Solutions, starting from Wednesday.

The company, affiliated to Sharjah Assets Management Holding, the investment arm of the Sharjah Government, announced the launch of the app in co-ordination with Sharjah Police.

"This is an innovative solution that makes it easy and simple to report minor incidents, as motorists and motorcycle drivers will not have to wait for police patrols to arrive at the scene, investigate and issue the report, which could take time and effort," said Col Ahmad Al Naour, the deputy director general of Sharjah Police Central Operations.

"But now they can rely on this innovative reporting service, "he said.

Fifty Rafid vehicles will be available on the roads from Wednesday to assist motorists, while drivers have the option to finalise the accident report through the app.

“The app will allow motorists to upload photos of the accident, driving licence and car registration of both parties and receive the police report through email or message,” Col Dr Al Naour said.

“It also provides easy payment options and will be available in English, Arabic and Urdu,” he said.

Motorists will be charged Dh300 for reporting an accident against an unknown party, Dh350 for minor accidents and Dh400 for minor road accident assessment by Rafid.
