Sheikh Qasimi was speaking on the eve of National Day, on which the UAE celebrates its 38th birthday. He expressed hope that this would be a distinguished day in words and deeds, with each person taking stock of how much he had given of himself to his family and his nation. The ruler said that Union is not just a word, but it is an exceptional state-of-being that combined the love for the nation's soil and the sincere vision of its leadership, together with the strong will to challenge and work. This was the special situation that paved way for the creation of a powerful nation, where every citizen lived in security.
