The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (Enec) was established in 2009 to oversee the construction and operation of the UAE's first nuclear power station, in Barakah.
The first unit of the station will be operational in 2017, with the remaining three units to be completed by 2020.
The project has been contracted to the Korean Electric Power Corporation.
Enec has developed a scholarship fund for Emirati students at universities in the UAE, United States and South Korea for programmes that include a master's degree in nuclear engineering and bachelor's degrees in chemical, nuclear, mechanical and electrical engineering.
