The JW Marriott Hotel in Deira will cease operations next week.

Visitors to the website of the Dubai hotel were greeted with the message that the property will no longer be open from May 12.

The statement on the website said that Marriott International stopped operations at the property due to “circumstances beyond our control that have interfered with our ability to continue to operate the hotel”.

“The hotel will not be open for business as of midnight (GST) on Sunday, May 12, 2019. We are working closely with impacted associates, guests and business partners and taking steps to promote a smooth transition,” read the statement.

Staff said they had not been told who would take over operation of the hotel or when it would reopen.
