Police workshop aims to fight UAE child abuse
ABU DHABI // A workshop aimed at fighting child abuse across the Emirates drew police from all over the country yesterday who sought to learn ways of better protecting children.
During the Fifth Workshop on Child Protection in the capital, Maj Gen Nasser Lakhribani Al Nuaimi, director general of the Minister of Interior's office, stressed the importance of cooperation between government and non-governmental bodies in protecting children from harm.
The first session of the workshop addressed the issue of investigating child-abuse cases. The second one highlighted various examples of child abuse, including physical, sexual and psychological mistreatment.
