As Commemoration Day is marked, everyone is also gearing up for National Day on Saturday. People are enjoying a long weekend, the airports are full and everyone is looking forward to the fireworks across the country on Saturday evening.

And finally turning to sport, the Rugby Sevens has got under way in Dubai. From its small beginnings in 1970, the tournament is now a firm fixture on the sporting and social calendar. About 100,000 people are expected to watch the action at the sevens ground over the weekend.
