Representatives from more than 150 countries are gathered in the capital for Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. The first day on Saturday saw millions of dollars made available for new solar projects in Africa. Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is the largest event of its type in the Middle East and includes the Irena assembly, World Future Energy Summit, International Water Summit and the Zayed Future Energy Prize.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Saudi Arabian minister of interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, who is currently visiting the country, in Al Ain on Saturday.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ties between the UAE and Saudi Arabia and ways of cooperating in the future.

And finally, the chief executive of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, Masdar, has sat down with The National for a one on one interview. In a wide-ranging talk Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi spoke about Masdar’s aims for the year.
