A man approached a domestic worker at a school in Dubai on Thursday, offering her money in exchange for the children in her care.

Kid’s Island Nursery in Jumeirah circulated a safety alert to parents on Sunday, advising them to report any suspicious behaviour within the community to local authorities.

The man who approached the maid as she was leaving the local primary school was driving a white Mercedes, the notice said.

“She was offered a large amount of money in exchange for the children in her care. The incident was immediately reported to the police and everyone is safe,” the nursery management said.

The Kid’s Island Nursery Head Principal said the incident took place at a primary school approximately 10 kilometres away from the nursery.

“We are in no way affiliated with the school however we have many parents who have children at both Kid’s Island Nursery and the Primary School mentioned,” said Agathe Jameson.

“We felt compelled to share the information with our parents, even though the incident took place at a Primary School, as it pertains to the safety of all children.

“We are a community and as such, we feel that it is important to protect one another and share information when necessary, even if that information leads to uncomfortable conversations,” she said.
