The Pakistani authorities have thanked the UAE for its efforts in saving the live of Malala Yousafzai, a 14-year-old pakistani girl, who was shot by Taliban earlier this month for advocating women's right for education. Malala was shot in the head and neck on her way back home from school on October 9. A UAE medical team transported her to the UK for treatment onboard a specially fitted out air ambulance. The Pakistani Minister of Interior Rehman Malik yesterday thanked General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The Pakistani minister made his statement as he received Malala's father before flying to the United Kingdom to check on his daughter who is being treated in Birmingham City.
