A sous chef and his female colleague have been charged with taking semi-naked pictures and videos of their friends without consent.
Dubai Criminal Court heard how the two defendants hatched the scheme while working together in a restaurant.
The Egyptian woman, 35, was charged with sexually assaulting a flatmate while the Yemeni man, 26, was charged with aiding and abetting sexual assault.
“She [the female defendant] told us that his request was made while the two worked together,” a policewoman told the hearing.
"I asked both defendants to provide copies of WhatsApp messages between. When they provided the messages, I referred the defendants’ mobile phones to the criminal lab."
Dubai Criminal Court heard how the photographs and video were taken during October 2018 as the pair's friends got changed while at home.
Photographs of one victim "showed her nearly naked,” prosecutors said in records.
Tuesday's hearing was adjourned until February 2. Neither defendant was in court to enter a plea.
