UAE boat makers are for the first time to have their own dedicated pavilion at the Dubai International Boat Show next month.
The "Made in the UAE" pavilion, sponsored by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aims to showcase manufacturers' construction skills and help them break through to regional and international markets.
Companies that have space in the pavilion include Julfar Craft, Legacy Yachts and Ocean Boats.
The global economic downturn encouraged buyers in the Middle East to look more favourably at domestically produced craft that are often cheaper than international brands, according to a 2012 report by Mike Derrett Marine, a consultancy.
