'Our nation is proud of you': Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed responds to Dubai Ruler's thank you campaign
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed has responded to a campaign initiated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to honour him in place of celebrations to mark the anniversary of the latter's accession as Ruler of Dubai.
The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai on Tuesday called on people to thank Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for his service to the nation.
Now Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed has responded in a series of tweets by praising the Ruler of Dubai as a leader to be proud of, thanking the people of the UAE and also those who made the country their "second home."
“Mohammed bin Rashid is a brother, teacher, inspiring leader and partner in the development process. Our nation is proud of you. Your values and talent inspire all Emiratis. From your approach, we learn the values of giving and life wisdom,” he tweeted on Wednesday.
“When we talk about ambition and optimism, we have to mention brother Mohammed bin Rashid. He is a practical thinker who devoted his time and effort to serve our nation and to support its vision with good planning and organisation.”
More broadly, Sheikh Mohammed said that they will create a model of optimism.
“On this occasion, I reaffirm my full confidence in the abilities of the UAE people. To all civil servants, workers, soldiers, teachers, students, fathers and mothers, I say thank you. Thanks to everyone who made the UAE their second home.”
On Tuesday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid launched a campaign to thank someone who had "an impact on our lives and achievements in the service of our homeland". The Ruler of Dubai had earlier shared a photo of the two leaders together, while the hashtag #Thank_you_Mohammed_bin_Zayed began trending.
Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai, also joined in, posting an image of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.
Thursday marks 12 years since Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid became Ruler of Dubai.
