Sultan Qaboos held talks with Sheikh Khalifa at Al Rawdha Palace. Both leaders discussed their views on the latest regional and international developments and ways to strengthen bilateral ties, according to WAM.

"This visit is a source of pride for the people in the UAE," said Sheikh Khalifa.

"The UAE harbours profound respect and esteem to the leadership and people of Oman".

Sultan Qaboos, who graduated from Britain's Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst before assuming the Omani throne in July 1970, said ties between the countries would see "steady progress in the coming period".
