If you are theatrical and are in Dubai on July 7-8, you may be interested in auditioning for a Dubai production that’s offering full-time work.

Performers over the age of 18 are invited to open auditions for at Madinat Theatre from 10am on both days.

Performers of all levels of experience are welcome, with the only proviso being that they must be available to rehearse during working hours – the successful applicants will receive full-time contracts including visa, health insurance and, of course, salary.

Exact details of the musical itself are being kept under wraps, but it will be written by accomplished musician Sanjeev Dixit and will open in September, with rehearsals to start around August 13.

Brian Wilkie, the entrepreneur behind the project, which is to be produced by well-known Dubai acting and casting figure Alex Broun, says: “Like the amazing city of Dubai we are open to all ages, all nationalities. We are offering up to 10 full-time professional contracts to talented actors, singers and dancers, so if you’ve ever dreamt of giving up your day job and taking up a life on the stage – here’s your chance.”

“People are often saying how there are very few professional performing opportunities in Dubai,” adds Broun. “Well here is one that all are welcome to come along to.

“This is a chance to change your life – so don’t be shy. At the moment you might be working behind the counter at Costa but if you’ve got the talent we don’t care where you are from or what you’ve done in the past.”
