New Dh105 million station to power up Dubai Marina

The new station will increase capacity, enhance the electricity transmission network output and meet the growing demand for services.

DUBAI // A new Dh105 million power substation for the Dubai Marina area has gone online, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) says.

The new station will increase capacity, enhance the electricity transmission network output and meet the growing demand for services.

"The new project aims to strengthen the capacity of our networks to provide electricity in the Dubai Marina area," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Dewa's managing director and chief executive.

The unit will be connected to the main distribution station at Palm Jumeirah and a station in Jebel Ali that will result in an increased stability of supply to customers, he said. "By providing stable and uninterrupted supplies of electricity and water, we are extending support to consolidate Dubai's leading position in the region and strengthen its role as an economic and financial destination."
