Students with special needs at a Dubai school are to benefit from five new apps designed to improve their education and confidence.

A project set up by electronics giant Samsung and Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs, involved designers competing to create apps that will enhance the students' lives.

Each app created focuses on a different area: academics, safety, sharing, grooming and semantics.

Isphana Al Khatib, director of Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs, said: It's really exciting for the team at Al Noor to introduce and implement these apps into the classrooms as we have played such an active role in the development process.

"These apps will make learning more fun and interactive and we are confident that they will also help some students achieve their educational goals faster."
